I’m back to work after my last vacation of the year. After August 21st of next year I’ll get an additional week of vacation. A long stretch from four weeks (13 years) and five weeks (20 years). Getting back to work was not really a problem, busy, but nothing intense.

Got both Sims 2 and Battlefield 2 to load using Daemon Tools and emulated drives. I have both originals, but I think Vista does not like SafeDisc DRM. I own the games damn it, what more do you want. Odd that I can’t find any way to get it working otherwise.

Just got the new Geforce driver with PhyX support. Wonder if it works on the G80 GPU.

Happy Birthday to my daughter who is now five years old. Thankfully she is saying she is five and not three. I’m not sure she’ll see this, but perhaps in the distant future when the blog becomes popular (long awkward pause).

Well then, now my internet connection has really taken a dive. I get 325 down and 325 up. I should get about nine to ten times more bandwidth. I called Windstream and they gave me a ticket. Not a golden ticket to a candy factory though. They are supposed to get to it tomorrow. The good news is I can still do posts and play WoW and Quake. Too bad this is my vacation.

I’m a sucker for the time travel or alternate reality science fiction like in the recent Stargate Atlantis episode Daedalus Variations. Favorites in the same vain in other series include, Fractures (TNG), Time and Again (VOY). I’ve also tried to put the time-bending into the Star Trek role-playing plots on Star Trek Space Fleet. Mostly meeting ourselves from the future. One day I’ll flush out my ideas.
